Last night I had the opportunity to document the first anniversary of the Manufacturing Innovation Network. This is a fantastic network connecting manfacturing leaders, entrepreneurs, government officials & technology experts from the Waterloo region.

One of the visionaries of the MIN was Dan Latendre CEO of Igloo Software.

It’s refreshing to see the manufacturing community working together in fostering innovation and business in the Waterloo Region. More often than not the area’s tech community gets the limelight but lets not forget there are thriving manufacturing companies that are doing great work.

The event was hosted at the amazing space at CIGI. Among the speakers were, Rod Regier, Executive Director, City of Kitchener, John Milloy, MPP Kitchener and Jason Santo, MIN Community Facilitator. John Keating, CEO of Com Dev gave a stirring presentation on innovation and cooperation within the community.

After the keynote, there was an innovation panel discussion touching on such topics as social media, cooperation within the community and moving foward in the future.
